Disposable Medical Gown - Kirann AAMI Level 3
There are two main types of medical gowns: isolation gowns and surgical gowns. They are both Class I medical devices. It is important to note that the product names of gowns are not standardized. These products may also be called procedural gowns, operating room gowns, or non-surgical gowns. Medical and Protective gowns protect the clothing of health care providers. They also protect visitors and patients because they prevent the transfer of microorganisms and body fluids in patient isolation situations. Pathogens are unable to penetrate the material which protects both the wearer and the patient. Gowns are one part of an overall infection control strategy and can therefore benefit many other industries such as food, aviation, tourism, hotel and hospitality industries.
